Green plate weenie pipe.
What timing on ARC flywheel (older one)
And coil gap?
Ran 2 races with it and on 3rd race wouldn't start. Pulled plug (3910x) and it was fouled really bad. Gummed up fouled!
And guessing I need to check the jets in carb as well. So what should they be?
Thanks in advance guys.

32 degrees timing, .040 coil gap, 022/024 low side, .039 main. that should get you in the park adjust from there

If the ARC flywheel has a 2012 or older date code the info Don gave you is good. If the date code is 2013 bump the timing up to 36, coil gap .070 and a .026 low .039 main. Lash as close to zero at room temp. Turn it 5600-5700. Who made the carb you are running?

Why would you want different timing with different flywheel dates?

The new magnet design charges the coil longer for a more acurate spark at high RPMs. Long story short, more advance is needed because the coil is being charged sooner and fires later than the old design.

I can see that if you set the timing by the coil leg, but not with a timing light. Not arguing, and thanks for all you do.

For the plate motor the magnet is so strong we set the timing around 36-38 degrees and coil gap around .65-.80. and with the gap it puts the timing back around 32 degrees and the reason for this on plate motors this that the magnet is so stong that by doing this takes away the magnet to coil drag.

Negative. You will not loose 4-6 degrees of timing by moving the coil up to .065-.070. with an ARC flywheel. You will might loose one degree at .080-.085... Yes you will reduce magnet drag.
