In need of help

Im in need of some help my son has a Manco power sports 425 dominator 5.0 hp 125cc and we just got this kart used and its a duell chain set up and I haven't had one of these before and I was wondering they have the sprocket on the clutch facing the motor is this correct because when going up hills it doesn't have any power to pull the hill what is ur thoughts on this

That shouldn't make a difference in power. Does it have a governor?

No it doesn't the motor is revving up but it doesn't seem that the power is going past the clutch the kart quits moving just like your car would if u pressed the clutch in and revved it up. They told me that they put on a new clutch si I wondered if the put it on backwards

is the key way in?
maybe not a new clutch.
most racing kart chain is on the inside.

Key sheared or the clutch bell and shoes are glazed over from oil and slipping

Guys the slot is the keyway, the square stock is the key.
