You obviously have internet access, so don't limit yourself to someone in your local area. NC and SC have some of the best prep specialists in the country. Names like Andy Murray, Matt Connell, Donnie Nall, Earl Mewhorter, as well as Track Tac can be extremely valuable resources to experienced racers, let alone someone starting out. Jumping around between preps and programs, especially at first, is probably not a very good idea. Find someone you feel a trust in and LISTEN to them. Keep good notes as well, as memories are not always enough. Recording everything you do to your tires and each and every track condition you can think of will help you learn a lot along the way, and can be valuable information to your prep man to help them help you.
