magnet failure!

Just wondering if anyone else has had a magnet explode on the flywheel on one of the 212 hemis?? I recently had one fly off and destroy the coil bracket, along with knocking a hole in the head... :(

No problem. No one got injured....so the usual real world response is....do nothing about this until someone
gets hurt....badly.

Oh, but you have tracks like mine who force you to run the stock flywheel because they "have never seen one come apart", so it must never happen. And the worst part is it's a kid's class.

It's rare but it happens. In dirt racing especially, the way the stock flywheel is shaped can allow a rock to get into the recessed area where the magnet sits and take out the coil/magnet and more. You'll note the aftermarket flywheels are smooth all the way around.
