can someone educate me on #15 Birggs. different from an animal? I have a guy who says for an open motor I should buy his model 15.. fits in the 250cc 4 stroke open class... before I spend the money I want an education
thanks

PD is a vast array of knowledge.
Far as I know aluminum Bore, Same foot print as .small
Block stuff.
All I know.

Aluminum bore. standard is just under 3 inch. Will need sleeved or nikasil coated or else chromed piston. Crank is the same. oil passage to topend is different. Stock animal/wf heads have been used but oil return slot in head makes head gasket sealing iffy. Billet head without that slot eliminates that as a problem. Side covers and all external parts are the same.

Wrist pin in stock piston is larger than animal, but billet rods can be reamed/ honed to fit.

Jimbo is a great source of information on these.

Does anyone have the info that may be printed on the side of the motor so I can look for one at the salvage yard.. or what it may likely be attached to
I was told newer ones will have 1150 would be printed on the side cover?? any other identifiers??

Thanks
