Motoplat kill switch

Someone awhile ago told me you can wire a kill switch on a motoplat coil without hurting the coil or stator. Granted the kill switch would do nothing if the throttle stuck or motor started sucking air. But it would be nice to have to immediately kill the motor at idle after pulling off the track. Can anyone here confirm whether a switch is fine or not, and if so, how it should be wired?
