I raced this weekend in lafayette with a new motor. i broke it in with sae 30 oil. drained it then put redline( like the rest of my motors). temp was running at 450 and a good bit of oil out fuel pump. i know 450 is way too hot. i changed the head gasket with same results. ran the carb richer with same results. changed the carb with same results. took the crank case vent hose completely out. still ran hot with oil out of pump.

any ideas. thanks

Make sure you have the temp sensor 180 degrees away from the exhaust pipe.
You may have an exhaust leak blasting the sensor with hot exhaust gases.
What was the ambient air temp. If it is a very hot day it will run hotter.
Make sure the air isn't restricted going into the engine. Do not put tape on the air inlet around the recoil starter.
Make sure body work isn't restricting air flow.
Make sure the kart isn't locked down to the track.
Make sure that some debris didn't get into the blower housing.
Make sure you didn't break the cooling fins off the fan.
Keep exhaust wrap 2 to 3" away from the header flange.
Thoroughly clean the oil from the fuel pump and put some epoxy or silicone sealer on it.
Here's how I route the fuel pump hoses; http://www.fastermotors.net/TheMissingLink.html

Check timing.

As for oil in the pump, more likely an indication of running too much oil than anything else.

I run 14 oz and cleaned and super glued the vent. Turned the pump so the oil can drain back down the tube and havnt had a problem on either Kart since.
