Nr 280 rpm cam

Hi all
Been running a this cam for a while now but it's hard to turn more than the given/listed 6500 and it's like the torque curve is dropping after 6000
It runs with stock carburettor which as required in our rules
It's also runs stock rockers but rein forced
C d i Honda ignition at 29degree timing
Head has run 32 28 valves with single h d springs of course ported and milled 0.100
Thick head gasket
Engine has excellent powerband from 2500 and all the way up to 600
But can I make higer revs and how

NR-Racing has a 280 RPM cam. That might help.

You are most likely carb starved, you will need a SA carb that has been bore, as for which one, let your money be your guide. Also check for valve float, What lb. springs you using?

I run the same class as Bluebandit, it's sprint racing in Denmark. Carb has to be stock size gx270 carb

Do they check size?..because a good S/A Carb on the outsides looks the same.

32mm intake valve and a stock carb is a bad combo

Last race top 5 had to pull of air filters and they were checked..

Need a bigger carb to use the big valves. Need a 28.5mm intake and 25mm exhaust if you plan on keeping that stock carb, or bore out the one you have.
