Old Murray Kart... need help

Hello, I have a acquired an old Murray kart for the kids to beat around the yard in. Model GT60703X92A, 6.5 hp Tecumseh engine. It runs fine, drives good, breaks are horrible. We've torn it down to rebuild and make it a little bit better. First dilemma, I'm looking to get new shock absorbers. I've found a break down schematic online of the kart, but no part number or identifying marks for the shock absorber. Just wanting to replace them with something OEM, nothing to extravagant. Second dilemma, the clutch and lower pulley are belt driven. Would love to convert this to a chain type clutch/sprocket/pulley thing as we went thru 2 belts in two months. Any info on either or both would be awesome. Thank you for your time.

Converting should be simple
Clutch and sprocket carrier.
Shocks center to center dimension.
Try old mini bike web site or bmi.
Single wheel drive or live axle?

Live axle. Shaft out of motor has clutch, belt from clutch to lower, larger pulley; other end of that pulley shaft has a small sprocket with chain to large sprocket.

The belt drive, is it variable speed. Meaning pulleys move in and out according to speed.
Jackshaft type drive system.
