Qualifying on Maxxis blues

I have a set of thick rubber blues that are cut and have never been on the track. Getting some Pinks to race with and was wondering if I could use these for qualifying. Could the Maxxis blues be fast for qualifying with the right prep?

If not, what could I use them for? Bought them just before I had to take a break from racing and now the Pinks have taken over.

I think you will be better off on Pinks -- they are generally a faster tire. Not to say you can't use up the blues at some point, but as important as qualifying is, I wouldn't run anything but your best tires (and that would be 9.00 Pinks for the most part.)

If they are cuts give them a try for qualifying. If they don't cut it, use them for practice tires to save your new tires for the feature.

Maybe in most cases but I've saw blues out run pinks many of times. Kevin you're more than welcome to give me a call and I can see what we can do to get those ole blues lightning fast for you!
