Reading Date Code

Bought out a kart team and got a lot of tires. How do I read the date codes on them? Also ho long are tires good for? Sure they are all a 3-4 years old. Wondering if I need to chuck them all or if any are usable.

What brand, Maxxis? First two digits is the year. The next two digits is the week of the year. The next two digits is the day of the week. The last four digits is to identify the employee who made the tire.
1519035555
15= 2015
19= 19th week of 2015
03= 3rd day in the 19th week
5555= employee identification

Looked at a few when I got home. All of them start with 0, here is the #s of a few. Not looking to get all decoded just listing different ones for comparison

12x8
Pink 0038011707
Blue 0819051707
Blue 0821018132
Yel 0541031517
11x6 Blue 0035051337

I figured they would be. Probably go back with vegas. Not sure if you remember Chad and Shana but they all came from them.

BT/Jacob,

This came off of Maxxis Kart Racing website.

How do you read the dates codes on a Maxxis tire?

042861530 or 142861530
0 = material number HT3 or 1 = material number of EL
4 = year 2014
6 = day of the week (Saturday)
28 = 28th week of 2014
1530 = employee number

Marty

Just for confirmation ...
Is there only a single digit (I.e., 2nd number) for the year
OR
Are the next two digits (positions 2 and 3) the year

Thanks!!
