Rocker Bottom Out

I have 36# springs and 1.2 rockers in a hemi. I've been told that when the valve is fully open that I should be able to get a screwdriver and lift the rocker a bit more. This of course is with the valve cover off and rotating the flywheel by hand. I'm not able to get any more movement out of the rocker as it seems to be "bottoming out". Is this coil bind? How do I fix this? Should I mill the spring pockets a bit more? The engine runs fine but I'm assuming this could end up disastrous unless I fix it. Thanks!

Unless retainer is hitting valve guide.

Milling the pocket won't help that.
May be able to cut top off guide to get some room.
Ahh yes. I'll take the springs off and look to see if I need to trim the valve guide. I never would have thought of that. Thanks!
