rookie karts clutch guard

I am getting a rooking kart up for my 8 yr old and noticed that there is a lot of room between the left side of the seat and clutch and I worry that his arm can fall between here and get tangled up. Has anyone else ever taken a piece 1/8" aluminum and made a guard that covers the clutch?

I take a piece of race car plastic and rivet it to top of chain guard. I leave it long enough to almost reach the frame as it pushes on side of seat ond seat strut.
Usually leave it longer front and rear to help slow the chain down if it comes off.

Pm me a number, I 'll send pics .

I have taken a right side tire, cut the side walls off of it and ended up with a wide strip of rubber(the tread area)--cut to fit and then bolted it to the chain gaurd --it is flexable and more or less conforms to the right side of the seat . I did this after my sons new jacket got into the clutch. I have done this on all my engines with no further problems---no sharp edges and works well.
