Round 2 for the SCUAS was held at Carolina 120 Speedway in Mooresboro NC.
There were 6 entry's in uas and only 3 in limited outlaw. Although the limited outlaw class was one of the smallest of the night, the racing didnt disappoint. All 3 karts in qualifying were separated by less than 2 tenths in with Kent Hollifield on the pole, Michael Meachem second, and Terry Hollifield third. Lap 2 of the feature saw the firstead change with Meachem taking over the top spot. Just 2 laps later, Kent Hollifield came back to the lead and brought Terry with him to second. Lap 7 saw the third lead change as Terry was able to overtake Kent for the top spot with Meachem coming through to the 2 spot. Terry's lead was short lived however, when Michael was as to get by on the next lap. By lap 10, Michael and Terry began to pull away from Kent, leaving just the two of them to battle it out for the win. Both karts were so evenly matched, neither could make up any ground on the other. The gap stayed between 2-3 kart lengths until the checkers fell. Meachem was able to pick up his second win of the year, with Terry Hollifield a close second, and Kent coming home third.
Now the uas class had double the entry's but not as much excitement. Robby yow set the pole time nearly half a second over outside pole Justin Gilbert. Terry Hollifield qualified third with Darrell Brooks fourth, Bill Meachem fifth and Matt Greene sixth. At the drop of the green, Yow jumped out to a 3 kart lead wih Gilbert in tow. Yow steadily opened up the gap until lap three when Hollifield passed Gilbert for the second spot. Hollifield seemed to be able to match speed with Yow and at times even close the gap. The gap between 1st and 2nd stayed around 5 kart lengths while they pulled away from the rest of the field. Around lap 10 there was a break in the action when Matt Greene slowed on the speedway bringing out the yellow. Brooks also had an issue with a belt on the same lap causing an early retirement for him as well. When the field went back green, Yow once again jumped out to a kart lead over Hollifield with Gilbert and Meachem running third and fourth. Meachem pulled of with 3 to go and Gilbert did the same with 2 laps remaining. Neither having issues, just realizing it wasn't there night. Hollifield was able to keep Yow within striking distance hoping for a mistake, but it never came. Yow brought home the win with Hollifield roughly 6 kart lengths back.
