We regularly get questions on parts recommendations and, over time, have found what we call "when in doubt" selections based on our customers' goals, budgets, and expectations.
Based on five different goals:
1. Recreational, Using the performance of the Briggs LO206, Ghost 212 & Tillotson 212RS as a baseline, we created a combination that will exceed the performance and durability of those engines without sacrificing easy start-up and drivability.
2. Hot Recreational, similar to our stage 2 kit, this combination will have a power band and power identical to the Tillotson 225R, depending on engine displacement.
3. Street/Strip, there has never been a more requested combination than a hot cruiser that doubles as a mild race engine.
4. Stock Appearing, One of the most popular and growing kart classes.
5. Open Modified, Typically this combination is used in the 14.5ci open classes for kart racing.
We have created an Engine Builder's Guide to help you select parts for the Predator 212 Hemi, Predator 224, Ghost 212, Tillotson 212E, Ducar 212, Wildcat 223, and our 236R and 263R Engine Kits.
Using our guide as a reference will provide a competitive build or bogey to chase, allowing you to make adjustments to improve areas of the power band in the most suitable direction for your application, track or build.
