Smc virtex red to black or bully

Hey guys wondering if anyone has ever took a red vortex and turned it into a black or bully basket. Want to be able to run the needle bearing 13 and 14 bully drivers and wanted see if its been done before?

I'm sure someone here know more on this than I do and can provide a correct answer, but I will comment on what I do know.

First off I would probably say you would want to stick with the SMC basket, and depending on how many tabs your disks have (4, 8, 12?) it may be your only option without buying new disks too.

From there I've only converted from smc black to red with the kit from SMC:

It comes with a conversion washer to help maintain the same height as the black:

This washer goes between the clutch and the basket when converting red to black. My thinking is the black basket with bully style sprocket and inner race must sit taller and have more clearance from the clutch, so to make up for that with the red basket it needs the extra washer when on the black clutch.

I don't want to give any wrong info so I will leave it there, but that may be enough information to reverse engineer what will happen going the opposite direction.
