Stainless valve stem differences.

Are there different valve keepers that need to be used for these two valve stems? The one has a much longer area for the valve keeper. I wasn't sure if there is a special valve keeper that is needed or not.

Thanks.

The longer one is how you usually see genuine honda valve stems cut, I do believe the retainers are the same though. Someone with more accurate info can follow up or maybe a call to ARC or your source of the valves

Or to put it another way.........the one on the right is the cheap low-cost junk that Honda designed to make the engine as cheap as possible for a steady-state generator application that does not rev past 3500rpm, but for a tuned application you can take them to a max of 7000rpm, but run 22lb valve springs shimmed to .815" installed height, FYI - if you use 18lb springs and the spring fails and you drop a valve, do not be surprised..........the one on the left is how all cars are designed, with a proper groove and a pair of tapered collets that will never fall out.........essential if your going over 7000rpm.
