Steel pickup tubes legal

I know in the past the wka rule book said only oem style pickup tubes but in the new rule book it only states 701.6.16 no long brass pickup tube allowed and a max size for short tube........ " screens not tech item"

This means I can use steel pickup tubes correct.
 
No, this is not correct in my opinion. Although you may want to take up your argument with WKA :)
I'm not sure why the wording was changed, but the pick-up tubes should be "compared to known stock sample" parts. That's the way I've always interpreted that rule in the past. The "no long brass pick-up tube" wording is just to eliminate the old-old carburetor pick-up tubes.
