Stock pushrod limit

Just wondering what spring a stock pushrod could handle. I was thinking no more than a 26#.
A buddy of mine says I need more spring pressure and gave me a pair of 36# springs, I said that would bend pushrods. Anyways just double checking

They won't bend You can use the stainless steel stock push rods or buy a set of chromoly do it yourself push rods. I had an opportunity to check 36 lb valve springs compared to 26 lb and found that the 26 lb valve springs would make more pressure when shimmed way up than the 36 lb springs checked on a digital spring checker.

WOW! so I guess I could try these 36# springs with stock pushrods? That is incredible!
