streching tires in the oven

I heard of a thing about stretching your tires in the oven. Does anyone know how this works and how to do it?

Add air pressure to make circumference of tire about 1/4" bigger than you want. Heat tires up real good then quench them in a colb bath or freezer wntil all heat is gone. Let sit at room temp for about one hour then lower air to desired pressure and check cir cumference and see what ya got.

I take valve stem out. Heat oven to 250 - 300. heat tire. While tire is hot put back valve stem, inflate tire to 1/2 inch bigger then shock with cold water. Sometimes I just let tire cool on it's own. I've had success both ways.
