Threaded king pins

Some years ago my brother had a Desperado chassis, I thought the threaded king pins were a nice touch instead of fumbling with washers. Just curious about why more manufacturers haven't gone to those style front ends?

1 turn in, doesn't equal 1 turn out.
More expensive to replace.
Stinger probably had the best looking in its day

Does 1 washer in positively equal to 1 washer out?

I'm thinking not. Cause there are other variables at work here.

Available infinite adjustment could be the positive.

Although, I believe that is not the total answer.

Yes, 1 washer is 1.2% cross
One in or out is the same, not so with a thread

Lf, rf. This holds true?

49% vs 64% cross?
55 vs 62% left?

Again, I think not.

Ymmv.

Edit

Do you adjust that late model with washers?

Would that be your preference?

No, and we don't use jack bolts either.
Kart isn't a latemodel, and yes, I always see near 1.2% per washer.
We experimented with the rear cassettes, and noticed the same thing, (1 turn in, 1 turn out,, and another turn back in gave us 3 different numbers) but if you're on the scales it's not a big deal.
Price to replace everything on a right or left front that is threaded is about 3 times as much as standard.
We always glued our washers together and left 5 on each side loose for adjustment.
For most it'll be set it forget it, buy for us I adjusted cross for track conditions/shape.

My OCD kicks in too when I see stuff like that.
