throttle issue

I am running a box stock predator. I have removed the factory gas tank and have added a top plate. My issue is that i can't seem to adjust the throttle linkage so that the carb is opened all the way. my max rpm is about 4500rpm ( while driving 13t driver, 65T rear ). any ideas?

Is spring on throttle rod binding before carb butterfly opens all the way?

If so, get more travel there. Screw nuts closer to end of rod, remove spacers, etc.

I believe what 95 Shaw is saying is the spring may be fully commpressed stopping the throttle rod from fully opening the carb.
My thought is are you sure it not opening the carb all the way?
Just because it turned 4500 RPM dosent mean it not full open.
