Tire Mounting

lol gotta love vega's! just starting out mounting tires youll have to play with your band a few times to get the right size for popping the bead too small its a pain too big it can be a pain! one thing to watch is what you use for lube, if your using a heavy lube and running on a really high bite track it is possible for the tire to unseat off the rim after a while youll get the hang of it with just plain ole windex and heat

Another helpful item is a compressor with a large capacity tank. Its all about getting the air in the tire quickly so it will "snap." Think about a stuck lugnut on a car. You can put all the pressure on the wrench you want and never loosen it....but one quick kick and "snap"...lol.

Why would the guy want to use a bucket when he has a tire band? .....please don't tell people to use a bucket....if you want to use one thats your choice.

he has the choice to tell people about the bucket trick . it works just fine . by him telling about the bucket it may have just helped out a low budget team , that cant spend $ on a purpose built tire band .

this forum is all about tips & tricks

That's plain stupid low budget or not.... hell the guy may as well spray ether in the tire and light it with a match, that will seat it.

and to use the excuse that a low budget team cant afford a used $35 tire band is crazy.....*PLEASE DO NOT USE A BUCKET*

This forum may be about tips and trips but it also has to keep safety in mind.
