Treaded Burris or Hoosiers

Is the Burris treaded tire better or the Hoosier? A lot of the tracks I run at, everybody is on treaded tires. I have seen both tires win. And what prep should be used?

Either can win it the right hands. I like the Hoosier treads (specifically the 9.00 tread) for big HP applications. We offer them both through our shop. :)

As for prep -- same preps we use on slicks as treads -- application is a bit different though. I'm decidedly biased towards Pink Panther, but there are a number of good preps on the market that will work just fine on your treads.

I use hoosier on 3 corners and the new burris 7.10 on my lr to try to keep stagger down but I'm required to run a 12/9 on the rr if I could run a 12/8 then I'd just run a hoosier 6.5 on the lr

I'm in the same boat-up in the air about burris or hoosiers. My track voted treads only next year& I've only ran slicks.
Most that do run treads run 12x9 on rt sides w/12x8 lr....seems to me it would be better off with 12x8 rt sides w/11x6.5 lr...
maybe too much stagger? I'm trying to figure out what sizes to buy in treads& which brand also.

We have a broad range of sizes and compounds available for the treads. Depending on the application there are a number of combinations that you can run.

5” wheel diameter
11 x 5.5-5 in TX-11 or TX-22
11 x 7.0-5 in TX-11 or TX-22

6” wheel diameter
11 x 5.5-6 in TX-11 or TX-22
11.5 x 7.0-6 in TX-11, TX-22 or TX-33
11.5 x 8.5-6 in TX-11, TX-22 or TX-33
11.5 x 9.5-6 in TX-11, TX-22 or TX-33
12 x 8.0-6 in TX-11, TX-22 or TX-33

There is also the QRC option that we do exclusively for them (the tires above are available from Burris dealers nationwide while the ones with the QRC designations are only available through QRC and their dealers)
12 x 9.0-6 in QRC-11, QRC-22, QRC-33 & QRC-55

The 11.5 x 8.5-6, 11.5 x 9.5-6, 12 x 8.0-6 and 12 x 9.0-6 tires all roll out similar while the 11.5 x 7.0-6 is about ¾” smaller in circumference to achieve another stagger option where desired.

I see that you’re in MO and there are a number of reputable guys who stock the Burris line in the surrounding areas. If you have any questions, please give us a call or shoot us an e-mail
