Valve Caps or no Caps

I have a tire question. We've always have ran caps on our valve stems. Several people told us not to. What is the correct way? Thanks

Leaking valve stems or not. Fast air adjustments or slightly slower. I don't see any magic, only preference or safety if you might have a stem leaking some. IDK

Always use the caps. Keeps dirt, etc. out of the valve stem.

Never used them in 40 years of racing 50/50 dirt and asphalt. Never had an air leak because of dirt in a valve stem.

None for me. My obsessive compulsive engineer friends feel the need to use them though "just in case". Lol.

As much as we wash tires I don't see dirt a problem... I don't use them.

Dealer's choice. When you are trying to adjust pressure in a hurry, they get in the way.

I always run caps on everything. Keeps water / grit out of the stem / seal, which can lead to leaks.
