Absolutely -- too much bite = locked down. In a stock class, that will kill your corner speed. You'll see it in peak rpm loss and bigger drops - then it'll show in lap times.

You will also see it in your CHT. A locked down kart will gain close to 30 degrees at the head from my experience.

I dont think you can have too much bite, however i think you can be too soft with bite and be locked down.

I totally agree with Earl on this. Too soft is what usually kills you with a tire with a ton for bite added.
