What is a good pulley sizes and what is a good speed to grind tires?

I'm building a tire grinder and looking for the right speed an pulley size to make it .

I'd like to know this as well. I am going to be using a 1hp motor that turn 3450rpm. Any help would be appreciated.

Everything I read in the past, people suggested 400-500 RPM's for sanding/refinishing tires. There are websites with pulley ratio charts on them....check out blocklayer.com

I have a 1/2 hp motor and use a 2" & 8" works good using belt sander.. before I had 2"&6" and sanded by hand but slowed it down for belt sander

I used gears. Fastenal has the driver that fits the motor for $12. I went 12/56-57 whats nice is I can change gears as needed.
