You may be asking a question that can't be answered until the engine is pulled apart.
The difference in price between say... giving it a look-over, kissing the cylinder bore on a hone, and installing a new piston and ring, vs.....
Needing crank rebuilt (new rod bearing, possibly new rod), new main bearings and seals, new piston and ring, etc. ....
Could be huge. The second option to the first option could be 3x-5x the cost.
