Wheel size and stagger

Any disadvantages to running a little wider lr wheel to gain a little more rear stagger ? Say going from a 8.5" to a 8.75" lr wheel

It stiffens or decreases side wall spring rate, i would never change rim width for a stagger adjustment. It changes too many other things.
