Wilwood brake rotors.

Hello all,

Started the process of desigining a minibike with fat tires. I know this is a
karting forum, but most of the components i'm using lean to high quality
kart products.
Rather than use traditional brakes, I chose to use a hydraulic brake system to
stop the bike. I looked around the net and it seems like a good quality brake is
manfactured by Wilwood for karts.
I called Wilwood and they do not manfactuer a rotor that fits the product they
make.
The bike is big and made out of Alumnium, so i'm looking for a large rotor with
a thickness of .50.
I'm not sold on Wilwood. I'd be happy with a brake system that has readily accessable parts.

Are there other companies that make good quality brakes and rotors ?

Thanks,
Jeff

I can't imagine a minibike that would require a 1/2" thick rotor. IF it is a big minibike, I would go with motorcycle brakes as they readily adapt to an application like this. If you can't find a motorcycle rotor to work, I could sure laser cut whatever custom rotor you need.

Legend,

It's a "start" on the design, yea it's thick. If I need to go down it shouldn't
be a big deal. I'm just rather surprised there seems to be nothing out there
for this brake.
I've used CNC plasma, milling and water. Haven't seen a part from a laser
yet. I may go that route depending how the design progresses.
