So I was mocking up my motor today I have a hemi with a throttle plate from arc and a 390 carb. I made the throttle connector out of a piece of metal cloths hanger got the springs on played with it for a minute then realized instead of the return spring closing the butterfly it was keeping it open. I took it apart and put it back together thinking I did something but. It's definitely the carb. HELP....PLEASE

It's not your carb. 390 are set up that way. U have to attach the rod from the top of the lever on the top plate. If it's the old style arc top plate you'll have to do some creative engineering.

You have to hook your throttle cable to the back side of the lever under the
top plate.look at your top plate see where the throttle hooks up just reverse it.

Attach at the same side of the lever as your throttle cable
