I received flyer in the mail today and to be correct, green plate classes are a range of kids 8-12? Skipping purple plate(Jr. 2) altogether? Just green and blue plates?

DA_51-

You are correct, Just Green & Blue plate divisions. We did this last year with good success.

Sorry it took me this long to reply. Hope to see you guys there.

Just a couple of quick questions:

1. I see that saturday Clone Heavy is 175 LB driver minimum...does that apply to Clone Heavy friday night as well?
2. Time Trials for all classes both days?
3. What are the qualification requirements for "semi pro"

Thanks!

JPM-

The Clone Heavy (175lb driver weight) is just for Saturday. We will be qualifying on both days. As for Semi Pro, we will let you decide what division you want to run. However, if you choose to run Semi Pro... You will NOT be allowed to race any of our "Pro" divisions. This includes: Pro Medium, Pro Heavy, Prelude to the King, King of the Concrete and King of the Concrete Champ.

We feel this is the best way to handle the Semi Pro division.

Glad to have you in attendance this year JPM.

Thank you for the information, looking forward to it!

I understand how merging the classes together works well for the show and boosts the kart count for the green plate class.. It just seems like an eight year old is at a disadvantage when a 12 year old has 4 more years of development, by age, maturity, muscles, etc.. especially for concrete..

Good point. At that age, the younger of the two should be greatly outclassed. That usually means a greater speed differential, leading to lapped traffic that is difficult at best for the leaders.

It was the same thing last year and honestly it wasn't that bad. The youngest kid in the whole field ran 2nd for over half of the race.

I think we would both agree that he's an exceptional young man though Dave. If I recall, he had a pretty good tire guy too.
