Higher the tire pressure I can run will that give me better role speed? And with a champ you may need 1.5 lb or 2 lb split with right's being higher of course
Sure will, which with lower HP engines It's critical to run as much as possible, as I stated PROVIDED your making proper grip you should be around 14 lb. Also keep in mind If your gearing is good now and your able to run higher air gaining roll speed, you'll need to pull some rear gear so you don't over turn it.Higher the tire pressure I can run will that give me better role speed?
Start at 5lbs?Typical with the A40 is 5# all around. It's a very hard, stiff sidewall tire similar to a Vega Yellow/Blue.
@K3 I'd start there and go up as the track grip allows for increased roll speed.

That's what he's sayingStart at 5lbs?
Yes. As the track grips up, then go up on air. When we ran the champ (with animal and considerably more power than a box stock Predator,) on A40s, you had to absolutely KILL them with prep to get them to get ahold of the track (internal and external.) With no prep, you need to drop the air psi to get any sidebite out of those stiff sidewalls at all. You'll still have considerably better roll speed (even at lower air) than you would with soft sidewall Burris 33s or Hoosier D30As, but not near the bite available.Start at 5lbs?
My point. Without softening or adding grip with prep, you won't get away with running much higher air on these tires on a no-bite track. Even if it does produce roll speed - you'll never get through the corners.5lb of air for animal class is big difference than 5 lb of air for predator, just say N
