Steve got motor running used timing light and timing was 29 degrees through out rpm range and did not vary. Thanks

Glad to hear its working good for you! The PVL is a great ignition system and very reliable.

Early on when the PVL first came out we used a electric motor on a Animal engine to spin it up through the rpm range. With a tach in place you can watch as the PVL steps up to full advance. The PVL is reliable and repeatable as far as that test. This simple method will give you a good idea as to what is going on.

That must be one heck of an electric motor to spin it up to 8000 rpms.
Why not just put the light on it and start it up?
