Ben Hur Speedway $1500 to Win Shooky Summer Shootout & $1500 to Win Shooky 2

Ben Hur Speedway is proud to announce the 8th Annual Shooky Summer Shootout presented by Burris Racing, also presented by Keller Performance Center and D&H Auto Sales, in memory of Ray Shook. Thanks to Mike and Kurt Burris for their annual support of this race, also thanks to Andy Keller and Troy Deppe. We are also proud to announce the 1st Annual Shooky 2!

Saturday July 11th, 2015

The Shooky Summer Shootout

This event will qualify, run a single set of heats, and then the 30 kart, 20 lap feature.

The Shooky 2

Senior Clone Heavy, 375# kart and driver. (No Max. kart weight.) Age 15 & Up - proof of age must be shown.

This event will qualify, run a single set of heats, and then the 30 kart, 20 lap feature.

Right Side tires will be marked for qualifying, and must be used for the heat and feature.

Ben Hur is a Burris Tire Only track, and Burris slicks must be ran in all classes (treads allowed in rookie class)

Entry is $50 if postmarked by July 7th, $70 day of race for either event. To participate in the Shooky Summer Shootout or The Shooky 2, drivers must register in another class of their choosing.

All normally scheduled classes will run as well for 70% payback, like a normal race night program, however it is not a points race.

Thanks to these fine sponsors of this event!

Rain date would be August 8th, if needed. To be considered a complete event, the feature must complete 10 laps. In the event that one or both Shooky features gets rained out prior to 10 laps being completed, that feature will be ran on August 8th.

We look forward to a great event and a great crowd!

It sure would be nice to format this race so that the people with only one kart could somehow run both Shooky events! Perhaps run the regular show with the Shooky 2 and then run the traditional flathead Shooky after that.

I Agree with Troy. Make this happen.

Can we just start practice as soon as the Friday night race is done so that we can be done before the sun comes up Sunday

Maybe just be allowed to.enter one of the 1500.00 to win races. First you have two different winners, second that's good for the racers that don't have two karts. JMO

You may register at the Ben Hur on June 13th or June 27th, or send your entry in to the address on the form, which will be posted this week.

A driver participating in The Shooky Summer Shootout, The Shooky 2, or both, must register for a non-Shooky class as well - signing up for both Shooky Classes does not meet the requirement for the additional class.

We are going to try to do our best to format the night to allow racers adequate time to run both events, placing the Shootout and Shooky 2 qualifying, heats and features throughout the regular program. However, we cannot run the Shootout events completely, then start the Shooky 2 events - racers who will attempt both events with a single kart need to consider this, as multiple engine changes will be required.

The official flyer will be posted later this week. We also encourage racers to support the Friday evening show presented by WEB promotions - a great opportunity to tune up for the Shooky Summer Shootout and Shooky 2.

Just a few more days to get those pre-entries in! We'll post details early next week on all the start times, etc.

Thank you to all of our fine sponsors for making this event possible!

Will the race day follow the norm schedule of gates opening at 3pm and practice starting at 5:30pm?

On their Facebook page they posted that gates will open at noon and practice at 3pm! Was really hoping they would start this one earlier!
