Champ vs Cage kart.

Can some tell me the difference between the two. Nothing technical just in general.

Cage kart - bolt on cage, 40" wheelbase
Champ - welded cage, 42" wheelbase

And If both are allowed per rule the Bolt on cage ( provided the person bolting it on knows what there doing ) will have a huge advantage with all else being equal .

Just a champ kart..
Bolt on cages aren't recognized by WKA.

There are a couple Champs being built that are illegal, I won't say which ones, but they are new to the chassis market.

Positive you will, they are just welding cages on their flat kart.
Majority of tracks don't even check.

I hope the buyers/racers know what they are getting -- going to be hard to explain that investment is not legal when it's discovered for the first time.

Jr Sportsman champs are short (40") wheelbase, but will have a shorter cage as well.
The floating cage karts will have a huge advantage over a legal champ kart.

Cridersville has a Cage kart class. I ask about it and they said to refer to the WKA manual. It probably should be called a Champ kart class.

Toigo makes some nice receivers to convert a flat kart to a cage kart
