Hats off to Bloomington Speedway

I want to congratulate the people that put on the go-kart race at Bloomington, they did a great job for this event. I was one of those who really didn't think this would work out. The track was well prepared and the whole program ran quite well. I do know some of the help that was suppose to show up didn't show and this caused some personal for key positions to be shifted around in addition some of the workers were actually regular Friday night workers that worked non kart racing and this was new to them.
I showed up really only to display Digatrons new instruments for data acquisition and fuel testing but due to the tech person having to help out on the track I volunteered to do the fuel tech with Digatrons new fuel tester(this is the FT64 that is used at all major money events) ,we at Diagatron have tested many gas fuels and additives and have a good data base upon which we have set limits for the go-karts that use regular gas fuels. We set these limits based upon current fuels in those areas and compare it to a spec fuel that the track buys, in a nut shell all we are saying is your fuel is not within the limits the track set for that event for some reason. If anyone wants to discuss this please contact me on a different thread I will gladly do so. If I raced go-karts I would want my track to use this instrument as it evens the playing field.

Anyone notice the 25, Tim Collings? He was rolling in heavy with Tire Swag Preps, the sickest tires on dirt.

I can't wait until September, kudos to the staff at Bloomington.

So in a nutshell, you did a hell of a job for thew first time out. And you WILL get more back. I truly think you are sitting on an Indiana gold mine for go kart racing! Lots of passing, drafting, and truly exciting go kart races! How many of us out there, can say they have seen anything like that in Indiana in at least a decade?
Agreed, there was a lot of good racing. Thanks to everyone who helped put the show on.

Thanks to Victor Karts/Drayton Pierce Karting Products for all the giveaways.

And, to everyone else who put up the money and products to help support the race:
Bloomington Fastenal Store
Lake Monroe Village Campgrounds
Kevin Huntley Excavating
Terry's Custom Homes
JB Salvage

Auto Body Specialists

Thanks Glynn! All of your help Friday night certainly paid off! I couldn't have done it without your help! Looking foward to seeing you again!

Thanks for all the comments, I will pass them on to Kris. I would suggest anyone planning on returning for the fall race to make sure your numbers are BIG and very easy to read. It was extremely difficult to see them from the scoring tower, we are used to seeing numbers 3 times that size.
Please feel free to send Kris an email to thank him personally bloomingtonspeed@bluemarble.net

Who was our farthest traveler (city, state)?

I had an amazing night of racing. I personally havent been to pondarosa but for me it was like running dale hollow speedway again for some of the older flathead guys that ran in kentucky in the early 2000's you know how that track was. I really liked how you could be 2 or 3 wide and not touch. I ran fh lite' medium' and heavy. It was the best racing ive seen in awhile. In heavy i ran side by side with kart 65 for over 5 laps before we hit lap traffic and he had to drop behind me but was still a race to the checkered. In medium k18 i ran side by side for several laps and was a 3 way photo finish for 3rd place. The k18 also ran second to me in the lite class which even in that class there was some battling. But all in all we all ran a clean race i had a blast and if im able to be off work i will for sure be back in flathead at this track again. Also to kart 222 in medium and heavy it was great being able to talk to yall and pit next to yall. Hope to see everyone plus more come back to the next event.
Thanks again,
