I’m new to building engines and I have a 212 non hemi predator and I’m trying to get it to a compression ratio of 10.5:1. Right now I’m thinking about getting a .01 gasket with a flat top piston. What length rod would I need and will I need to mill the head? And if so, how much?

A flat top piston is roughly .020 in the hole or more so I buy the longer rod ,shave the head .045 ish and run 2 .012 gaskets stacked
Would there be any way to get close without milling? I know I said it in the initial question but would I be able to come close without it?
I’m not doing it for any racing league just for personal use
So a 14cc gx200 head with the 0.01 gasket, the flat top with standard compression height and the 5.26 push rods?
Oh yeah my fault. So the 22cc with the .01, stock height flat top and 5.26 rods

By longer rod did you mean the +0.04 or the 0.02. Just double checking as I’m about to purchase them

I have one that .040 put it .002 in the hole, but yes assemble and measure

Im on .040 rod with hemi flat top piston and its .002 in the hole also. You'll most likely need a .027 or so thickness gasket to clearance piston to head contact
Yeah I’m going to take my head off tomorrow and take a look at it. Isn’t the hemi a 70mm? The one I have ordered is a 72mm
