Mounting seat

I'm mounting a new seat.My question is how high is too high off the axle. My current seat is 9" above the axle.
My problem is that I'm not comfortable at that height.
A couple of months ago a strained a muscle in my neck.
I feel if I would raise the height it would help me.
Any input is appreciated.
The seat is a 2 xl on a 2013 triton.
 
Depends on how well the track grips up, IF it grips up good 9" to 9.25 " is about it, IF it's low grip you might get away with 9 5/8".

It's about VCG and how weight moves around the chassis.
Seat too high, transfers too quick.
Too low transfer gets lazy and slow.
Look for a lighter helmet, and a around the arm helmet strap.
You have to get the seat correct, it isn't about comfort
 
Us no neck guys have a real advantage. Lol
Helmet and neck brace take up all the room for head to flop. Just have to get helmet turned so not looking at the stars.
 
I already got a new neck brace. It is a lot thinner than a standard brace. Doesn't hold my chin up and seem as hard on my neck.
I do need a new helmet. Hadn't thought about a light one. J will look.
