Has anyone soldered the cht lead before? Not the wire itself but the actual lead the mounts under the spark plug? I can tell mine is weak and was thinking if I could save money by soldering the spot that is weak. I was thinking using the solder for pipes with a torch not the gun style.

I ended up putting jb weld around the weak point. I guess I should have said it was split but not totally broken off. If it doesn't work after this I will just buy a new one or not run one. But I like the assurance in knowing the Temps of my flatheads.lol
 
Right . Yea i guess it would be hard to splip shrink tube over either end .
self sealing electric tape . the rubber type would help as well .

Where the crack is/was was right by the fins of my head so I don't know if electrical tape would help much. I just can't see spending the same amount for a lead as I did for the mychron 3.
 
In my case most times I have tried to fix the CHT on any of the many Mychrons either it didn't work or didn't last much.
