We were bench racing about 3 weeks ago and taped header vs. regular header was brought up. I never ran a tapered header but see the idea behind it. What was the reason you preferred the tapered over a normal header? When I was racing, I preferred the tapered header on my KT 100. Later, when I had my dyno, I stayed with that. Not that there's a real big difference, just a feeling.
I'm pretty sure, if there's any difference, it could be made up by adjusting the flex length, "just a little".
No real reason, it just looked right to me and I had a feeling it was faster. Definitely wasn't slower. Wish I could help you more.We were bench racing about 3 weeks ago and taped header vs. regular header was brought up. I never ran a tapered header but see the idea behind it. [/well they both tapered but the buller header is big small then big again.that would seem like a restrictor to me.the other rlv i have is tapered out to 1 7/8”.but i dont have a dyno so its guess work.and id say alot of it is sales gimmicks.a header isnt going give me no advantage i dont believebut its good hear other opinions
