Run a Predator by Gulf Coast rules. Hot laps it seemed to do ok. Started on outside pole. Leader got a hair of a jump and him and the 3 inside karts flew by me. After the race a friend of mine said my motor sounded flat. For the hot laps i was a little over 5,800 and the heat a little over 5,900. I think I should have been in the 5600 rpm range. Just wondering if turning it to much would make it sound flat.
I was watching one class. It was adult. I think lite. The guy that won the race, his motor didn't sound like the rest of them to me. Sounded much stronger.
I do wonder if the days of the budget racer like me, the days of us building our own motors and competing are over though. I think most of the motors running in the class were builder motors.
