Route 68 Speedway - Mt. Orab, OH

I've never raced on this track. Can anyone share info? Size? Flat? What type of surface? What is a starting gear for Jr 3 on a clone? Just curious as I have to get started on my tires this week. Thanks.

The track is a true 1/5 mile mostly flat. The starting gear for adult clone would be 16/63 will be in the ball park but for Jr 3 not 100% sure where it is. Track will get hard and take rubber providing mother nature doesn't flood us.

I'll go one further, I have been go kart racing for 30 years. This is probably the smoothest track I have ever raced on. Built by racers, professional equipment and no bull**** corner marshalls. Definitely highly recommend this facility. Glynn

Great track, terrible favoritism and they NEVER follow their own rules issued at driver's meetings. BEWARE of that. But otherwise, it's great.

I did not experienced that. Every track has pros and cons. You do this stuff long enough, you'll feel like you been screwed sideways and backwards at every race track. It's racing. Only one person is ever happy, the winner. Glynn

^^^^^^^like lol great track and facilities hands down one of the best racing surfaces u will race on in southern ohio!!!

Every track has issues from time to time, no track is perfect by any means. Sometimes you are on the wrong end of a call It happens.

Looked like alot of imparient driving to me and the ones that were causing the issues were pit to tail or black flagged. Seen some good racing in the top 10 with alot of respect. I mean track is like 30 feet wide and a 1/5th mile no need to crash someone. I seen one guy plow over several ppl then complain when he got pit to tail. 68 done a good job this past weekend and they continue to improve on raceday every event. We only run here a handful of times a year but always smooth and the staff is always willing to listen and take suggestions.

No need to bash a place with a fake user id.

There is a lot I would like to say to the fake ID user but it also doesn't take a genius to figure out whom and who it is. But I will say this after said actions and display of sportsmanship or freedom of speech certain parties will never be permitted back on the property of Route 68 as long as I am principal owner............. We could have had legal action taken for the property damage the said party caused but then again that would stoop to there level.

I will say this to all drivers out there your actions on the track reflect on how the races are run. The amount of disrespect that many drivers now days are showing each other on the track is just totally alarming to say the least. Tracks can only do so much to try and clean it up but it STARTS with you the drivers...............

I challenge you to watch what happens at the end of each race that comes off of the track at the scales. Old days ( yea I know ) guys would come off track pull there helmets and be laughing and joking around and having fun. Now you see helmets come off and the arguments start, pointing fingers, cursing, throwing things and yelling at the track officials...

What happened to this sport where sportsmanship, helping fellow racers and having fun at the track.

Ask yourself this question how was your night at the track??? Did you leave mad or happy??? Winners always happy... How many arguments was you in?? Why??? You fault or other persons fault?? Was you blocking, brake checking, body slamming somebody, beating and banging or showing respect to fellow racer and equipment. Do you enjoy going home mad or feel proud how you acted that night and raced fellow racers?????? How many tracks have to been to this year and when you went home you was involved in a argument or a controversial occurred with you at the track????

Look in the mirror if this is you might want to think about why I am racing and the reputation I am creating... But is most cases it always somebody's else fault.............

I challenge you to take responsibility for you ACTIONS show sportsmanship.......... Respect is EARNED not given. Think what freedom of the speech has done for yourself and or your career....

Public forum is fantastic and so is freedom of speech but it will most certainly separate who is blaming the world for your failures or whom takes responsibility.

IMO, Back in the day, we didn't have all the bodywork and had far less wrecks and far less yellow flags. Too many people using the kart body as some sort of protective shell to "bump" other karters out of their way. And then they want to know why they were thrown to the tail or black flagged.

Well said larry i think there should haeve been more black flags thrown , yes people bump you out of the way that track is to fast for that type of driving . But all in all we had a good time finished 4th in med will go home and do more home work thats what you got to do and try your luck next week .

We got beat like we stole something but had a blast. And after sitting here and thinking about it i bet i know who the fake id is as well. Stick to your guns larry and run the best program you can. People will support you. We will be down for the uks, but after seeing where our program is lacking we will not be racing.

Looking forward to visiting this venue next weekend. Larry and crew have put a lot of hard work into the facility and it shows in the grounds, track surface and everything in between.

Yeah larry just toss the bad apple or apples i should say out. And run your races, dont have to deal with the drama that some people want to stir up.

Andy thanks for the advice but we wander why we don't get spectators to watch our races with all the drama we see on tracks.. Would you like to bring your kids to the pits and see what goes on after a race????? Would that make you think twice about getting involved in the sport????? Oh forgot its somebody's else fault.

I work for a very large vocational school and had teachers and administration show up in the pits the past few years that was interested in getting into karting.. To this day none have done it and wander why I put up with all the issues we are faced with nightly...

John look forward to the UKS coming to Ohio and having a great show.
