^ Yep, 15* two piece motor mount - you have 2 rear halves shown -- you might find 2 front halves in all your purchase.
If not, I have never seen anyone sell just the front halves.
 
Sadly no front halves, so I guess I’ll still have to go buy one. If I jumped in it the first time he did have another one he sold.
Is this top metal (shroud?) necessary? One has it the other 2 are missing them. Also are studs better than bolts or are there different applications?

Yes. looks clean inside . Is the cylinder rusty or just a glazed look . Use a magnet see if its steel. Yea you had too clearnce them , the rods , sometimes the crank and cam as well.

cylinder isn’t rusty at all, very clean. I can see the steel sleeve in one of them but not the other 2, that would mean they are aluminum right? Or could it be steel without the sleeve?
 
If I don’t plan on running alcohol is it easier to get a new carb? I read somewhere that they drill out holes in the carb somewhere along with the different jetting. Anyone know if that is true?

Yes they affect things .
The jet limits the flow to a greater extent . Alcohol is typically . 048-.060.
It might be a little more finicky on the needle adjustment.
